Raw. Green. Vegetables......... Ugh.

Soooo..I ate so much over the holidays that I decided to go on a diet...and to start it BEFORE the New Year so that it's not really a New Year's resolution....(which I break every year)....it's an end-of-year resolution...and I've already lost 3 lbs. (or at least that what the fancy shmancy scale told me this morning. - - p.s. I started the diet yesterday morning) So yeah...lost 3 lbs in 1 day. Not bad. I'm VERY curious to see what the scale says tomorow morning.

Okay...so here's the diet.

For FIVE days...

NO salt.
NO sugar.
NO carbs.
NO dairy.

Lemme tell ya....it's BORING. and I don't think I'm gonna want to eat anything remotely resembling a raw green vegetable for a LONG time. =Þ

My district manager at my job did this diet...lost a good bit of weight.
She looks AWESOME.

Hopefully I will too! =)

Next Monday = P90X (look it up)

Please pass the potatoes. And gravy. And turkey. And stuffing. And cranberries. And pumpkin pie... NOW.

I had a wretched, horrible, horrendous day at work today.

I'll just leave it at that.

BUT, tomorrow IS Thanksgiving...and so I suppoooooooose I should be thankful I even HAVE a job...considering the economy and such.

I guess I could also be thankful I don't have leprosy.

Oh, aren't the holidays wonderful? LOL

Okay...enough being drab.

I AM thankful for many, many, MANY things...which I won't bore you with.

I shall only say that changes are once again coming.

I can feel it.

And damn it feels good to be a gangsta. =)

This morning...on my way to work...I'm driving down the street in neighborhood...and there's a turtle attempting to cross the road. I pull my car to the side of the road...get out...walk over to the turtle...lean down to pick it up...and it starts............PEEING. So...I go back to my car...get a plastic bag out of the trunk...wrap it over the back end of the turtle...and pick it up. I start carrying it over to the other side of the street...and whattayaknow...the lil' shit started peeing AGAIN...but this time...it came shooting out of it's hind end...all down my leg...onto my foot.

Needless to say...I did get the turtle to safety...but whathehell!?! I didn't know they peed when they were frightened!!!

Oy vey.......

I just want to say that:

  1. I'm really happy that this election is coming to a close.
  2. I'm sick of getting texts from my friends/acquaintances telling me to "VOTE FOR _(enter name of candidate)_". It's annoying. I know who I want for President and no matter who you tell me you think I should vote for, it's not going to change my vote. Sorry, hombre.
  3. My left eye has been twitching on and off again since yesterday morning. Mostly when I'm at work too. Hmmmm... perhaps I'm getting too stressed out at work??? Maaaaaybeeeee????? Mmmmmhhhmmm...
  4. Still haven't won the lottery. Bah Humbug.
  5. Have made some fancy-shmancy purchases lately that I'm super excited about. A new chair & ottoman for my living room....some shoes...some clothes... ya know...the NECESSITIES! =) A woman can never have too many shoes, clothes, or places to sit comfortably in her home. Haaaaa!
  6. Seriously. Ben & Jerry's has this flavor ice cream called Dublin Mudslide. It's effin AMAZING. I have been unable to find it ANYWHERE. It's been annoying. Haven't had it in approx. a year.......UNTIL....I just found out that on Ben & Jerry's site....you can LOCATE A FLAVOR. Yes. They have a FLAVOR LOCATOR. &%$#@*^!!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE.... http://www.benjerry.com/our_products/flavor_locator/

I could pee my jeans I'm so happy right now!!! (Okay...that was a slight exaggeration. But only SLIGHT.)

Dimitri & Olga......the voicemails.

Listen to actual voicemails:
"http://theshermanfoundation.blogspot.com/2008/06/some-loser-douchbags-phone-messages-to.html" [The Sherman Foundation]

(From jezebel.com)
Once upon a time a guy, we'll call him "Dmitri," became obsessed with a woman named Olga. The romance was passionate and literary and many fond and fiery words were exchanged. Well folks, just over a century later history just about repeated itself, when a new Olga caught the eye of another, equally passionate Dimitri, one recent night near the San Francisco Marina. They spoke for no more than two minutes — just long enough for Olga to bestow upon Dimitri a business card and an abiding lust. But sadly, readers, ours is an era of constant unceasing multi-modal communication. Texts and emails and voicemails are left; deadlines, implied and explicit, are imposed; ultimatums are delivered. One almost has to wonder: is there time in such an age for true lasting passion to simmer? The outcome is unknown. But two voicemails left by this Dmitri for the "elegant" object of his desire do not portend a happy future. The transcripts — a bit is lost in the translation, such as his distinctively douchetacular pronunciations of "assume" and "man" — appear after the jump.

Message 1:

Hey Olga, it's Dimitri. Sorry I had to leave such a rushed message with you when we met the other day. I just wanted to quickly give you my phone number, and needed to get the heck out of the area. In any event, I thought I had better leave you a more detailed message and explain why I approached you. I am single. I have no trouble meeting women; I mean, women approach me six or seven times a day. But I'm extremely particular about what I like. You're an extremely elegant woman. I couldn't take my eyes off you, and your friends were very jealous — even if they say they weren't, they were envious of the fact that I approached you, and I was very taken by you. Elegant women are very rare. I'm Greek and I'm extremely particular about what I like. So I'm giving you an opportunity here. I don't know if you picked up the message on the weekend but I'm working on a movie script so I'll be doing that all weekend…

This looks like a land line, and if it is you may not get the message till Monday. But when you do, call me and we'll get together for coffee or drinks, and let the romance begin. You looked very taken aback by my approach, and I hope that wasn't timidness, I hope it was just shock at being approached so directly. Because I don't really date timid women, because I'm a very direct, very passionate, very assertive man, and I want a woman who is very independent and strong. So… we'll talk about that, but I just wanted to formally introduce myself. I leave the ball in your court. You call me as soon as you have the courage to. Okay, Olga? Talk to you soon, bye.

Message 2:

Hi there, Olga it's Dimitri calling again, the guy from the street.I left you a message several days ago you said you were interested. Now, here's the way I work. I don't like leaving second messages but I like you, you're a very elegant woman, you're very attractive, but, you know, I don't play that game. I know your friends tell you not to return calls; you're playing games like you see in stupid TV shows. So here's how it's gonna work. It is now 4:30 on Wednesday. Now I'll assume, I'll assume that you've already left work, because, you know, some people leave work early, so I'll grant you that. But if I don't receive a phone call back from you by 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon I'm no longer interested and I'm going to erase your number. I don't play games like that. I'm completely single, I'm very intelligent, I'm great in bed, I make great money. Believe it or not, I'm a complete catch. I've only been single four months; I had a long distance relationship for about a year, it's very tough to maintain it like that; there's nothing wrong with me. As a matter of fact I'm one of the few men in the city that has nothing wrong with him. So I'm giving you the three o'clock deadline. If I don't hear from you by then, you lose my number — I'm erasing your number right now, so you won't be hearing back from me.

So that's it: three o'clock tomorrow, or you can just completely forget it.

Now I understand if you've got other issues, maybe you're not playing games, I don't know… maybe you were abused in childhood?…Maybe your mother has cancer, and you're going to chemo…maybe you're just a person who's extremely frightened or has an anxiety disorder, maybe you're on some medication for that…I don't know, there could be another issue that I'm not aware of. But nobody says "Call me," hands a person a business card and then doesn't return calls. It's extremely passive aggressive. You should actually look that up, passive-aggressive personality disorder. You let me know, if you've got issues, psychological issues, if you're on any sort of medication for anxiety or depression, I'm not interested. But if you're psychologically normal, and you haven't called me because there's been some horrible thing that's happened in your life that's prevented you from returning my calls, that's fine. But otherwise? Don't call me. Okay, bye.

IDIOT. I want to punch this toolbag.

I want to hear jazz with my eyes closed, and dig my toes into the sand...

"I want health and healing and holding close. I want similar souls. I want passionate yeses. I want to hear jazz with my eyes closed, and dig my toes into the sand dancing. I want to climb to the summit and yell and sleep under the stars. I want to laugh my head off and play marbles and sleep in and eat croissants in bed with butter and marmalade and spill coffee and wear lace and trip holding your hand because I am listening so closely." -Sabrina Ward Harrison

I love, love loooovvvvvvve it. Yes, I do.

Buzzed? Perhaps.

Okay. So I got a new job.

Wait. Maybe I should tell you that I now have THREE jobs.

2 bartending jobs and 1 office job.

Good times, people. Good times.

Yeah. So now I have three jobs and I'm not making BANK, but I'm making just enough to pay the bills, enjoy a gourmet coffee drink every-so-often, and sneak in a clothing shopping spree here and there. (shhhhh.....)

Hubby and I are doing damn good. Which is ALWAYS a good thing. =)

Planning on a mini vacation to Epcot in Orlando for the Food & Wine Festival.
We went last year and it was definitely more fun then I had anticipated.

Again...which is ALWAYS a good GREAT thing.

Haven't been blogging because I just haven't been really into it. I've been lurking a shitload of fashion blogs...and of course Raymi's blog...which isn't about fashion but is about a cool ass chick who I need to hang with sommmmeday...but yeah...back to the fashion stuff...I am getting so damn much inspiration from these fashion blogs. They are helping me with my daily outfits and also in the sense that they inspire me to be more creative in other areas of my life. Allllso...when I feel good in what I am wearing, it makes me have more confidence...which leads to great things.

Did I mention that I got promoted at my new job after only being there for 2.5 weeks?!?!?

Yeah. I guess it works a lil'. ;-)

Okay...I guess that I've covered most of what I need to say. Will cover more later. I have good music to listen to and some deeeeeeee-licious pinot noir to consume.

I'll be in Chicago for 5 days next week...from the Wed the 21st til Mon the 26th.

Any suggestions on places to shop/eat/drink?

I'm pretty excited to go to H&M since we don't have one where I live. I went to the Chicago location last time I was there and bought a bag full of really great finds. Hoping to do the same this time.

Soooo...gimme some ideas! =)

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Well, you can't dictate the way, the way I'm gonna feel...No matter what, no matter what I'm forced to see...I'll be the one free of jealousy

I went to Barnes & Nobles yesterday. I was there for almost 4 hours. Yes. FOUR hours. Started off in their Starbucks cafe. Purchased an iced venti vanilla soy latte. Yummy! =) Then I was off to do some reading. The fashion magazines easily take up most of my time. Then it was on to books about Paris. Then to the self-improvement section. I spent more than I would have liked to...but whatever. Here's what I purchased:

Berlitz French Phrase Book & Dictionary
Eyewitness Travel Guides: Paris
The Success Principles: How to get from where you are to where you want to be (By Jack Canfield)
The Modern Girl's Guide to Life (By Jane Buckingham)
Lucky Magazine, May '08

Why I bought these books:

My hubby and I are planning a trip to Paris for this September (maybe October) and I really need to start reading up on the city and learn the language. You have NO IDEA how excited I am for this trip. This is something I have been dreaming of for YEARS. =)

As for the Success Principles book...I have so many different things that I want to accomplish and I need some advice...motivation...to get off my ass and make it all happen.

The Modern Girl book...well I've been wanting that book for awhile now. =) I'm such a frickin' girlie-girl.

Lucky Magazine is like my little monthly shopping bible. I love that magazine.

Lately I've been finding that I am more-than-ever obsessed with fashion. I always go thru phases with stuff that I'm interested in. But this one has really hit me hard and I just feel like living in the town that I do is just holding me back in some ways. Take for instance a couple weeks ago. I went to a nightclub that is owned by an 80's/90's rockstar. The whole theme of the place is aimed around the type of rock music he played. Okay, now for the fashion part. I had seen a picture of a very fashion forward girl online in her blog and loved the outfit she had on. I decided to recreate the outfit and wear it out that night. Basically the outfit consisted of a white deep v-neck tshirt (untucked), a short blue demin vest (worn open), some longer chain necklaces, a few bangles, a fitted black mini skirt, black tights and black knee-high stiletto boots. The outfit itself was pretty basic with the colors being black and white. The denim vest was definitely from the late 80's, early 90's. I thought it looked good. =) A girl and her boyfriend standing behind me at the bar didn't like my outfit so much and...laughed at me. Mmmmhm. Okay...seriously...WTF? They were standing a matter of INCHES away from me and were looking directly at me (more so my vest) and snickering to each other. %$#@& It seriously took everything in me to not punch them both right then and there. I quickly reminded myself that I was dressing for ME, not to please others. This is my problem with fashion sometimes. Okay...wait...it's not with FASHION...it's with the area I live in. If you don't dress like everyone else, you're a weirdo. But who the fuck wants to look like evvvveryone else? I've always been the kind of person who will like a trend, but won't really wear it until the trend has passed a bit. I'll never stop wearing something just because some people think it's out-of-style. If I like it and it fits me and looks good on my body, I'm wearing it for a long time to come. Or I might stash it away and wear it again in a couple years.

I have a feeling I need to live in a place that is more accepting of peoples' individuality.

You've got a lovely way with words. Must be the way you see the world.

Everytime I get home from work, I want to blog about it. BUT, we're not allowed. Apparently there was some chick who had a blog and was all complaining and shit about the place and her coworkers...annnnnnd the owners found out about it...and yep...she was fired. Sooooo...I guess all I'll say is that I love my job (a lot)...but I get more than slightly annoyed with some of the less-than-intelligent people I work with on occasion. And that's all I shall say about that. ;-)

I haven't even been on my Myspace in over two months. Okay, wait...I went to sign onto it two weeks ago, and whattyaknow I forgot my friggin password. So yeah, I woulda broken down and signed on at a month & a half of bein away from that addictive lil site, but like a retard I can't remember the stupid password. Bah humbug.

Still (!!!) haven't found my camera cord. It's making me so crazy. I know it's in this damn house somewhere.

Okay, so here's what I need to work on:
(this is more of a reminder to myself)

  1. Start learning French. Immediately, if not sooner. =) We're supposed to be going to Paris at the end of the year and I think it'd probably be a damn good idea if I knew how to speak the language. (Duh.)
  2. Get my ass back in the gym. I have taken way too much time off from working out and it's time to stop being lazy (!!!)
  3. Finish organizing my closet and build a wall rack thingie for my plethora of necklaces, scarves & belts.
  4. Start cleaning the garage. I have so much damn stuff in there...still in boxes...that I know I don't need and can donate to Goodwill. I really need to get a move on with that project.

Oh yeah...and I watched a really weird movie last night on the Independent Film Channel (IFC). It was called "Crash". Here's the description of the movie on IMDb. I don't think I've ever seen a movie (that wasn't a porn) with so many sex scenes. The whole plot was quite disturbing, but interesting at the same time. Some people really do have some whacked out fetishes, and the one the movie is based around is one I'll never quite understand. To each his own I guess.

Time for me to go do something constructive. Like finishing my closet. But FIRST...a quick run to Starbucks. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good. =)

An oh-so-exciting update......... Not so much.

I am alive. Yes.
Been a lil busy though.

Been workin'. And playin'.
And the in-laws have been in town.
And then there was Beerfest to go to.

My hubby bought me a very special one year anniversary gift too. =)
An antique makeup vanity & bench.
He knows how much I've been wanting one. ::swoon::
LoveLoveLOVE that man. xoxoxo

Pics to come (hopefully) soon.
STILL haven't found my camera cord so that I can upload the pics.
SO aggravating.
I guess I COULD just go buy a new one...
but I just know that sucker is around here SOMEWHERE...
and the second I get home after buying a new cord...
that lil bastard will turn up.

Sooooooooooo annnnnyway...
that's all I haveta say right now.

Friday, April 04, 2008

Okay. I'm better now.

Had a couple moments of deeply pissed off lunacy last night...

but I woke up in a good mood today and am ready to find my camera cord without destroying everything in my path. =)

Bombay Shmombay.

Oh yeah...

and I'd like to add a lil somethinsomethin about how PISSED I am that Bombay Co. is no longer in the U.S.

They were my "GO TO" home furnishing store. My dining room set...my bed..my dresser...tables...wall art...etc etc etc...are from there... and it's not here anymore.

It's -bullshit- I tell ya.

Complete and utter BULLSHIT.

in 80 degree weather...
soaking up the sun...
with a nice cold drink in my right hand...
and my Zune in the left.

Perhaps a little.

I have about 30 seconds to update.

Easter = lots n lots of delicious food...desserts...cocktails made of pomegranate & pear juices w/champagne...hiding and finding eggs with my little baby brothers.

Shopping = none except for having to buy khaki shorts for work (oh yes...i'm soooo in style in my khakis. heh heh...not.)

This week = training each day for 4 hours...taking tests...trying to soak it all in so that I'm 100% ready for our grand opening this weekend. I think I smell MONEY!!! $$$$$$$$ =)

Music = I think I have downloaded approx. 150+ new songs to my Zune this week. I've been trying to find a new band or two each day that I really like. So far so good. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

Just a thought...or a rant...whatev.

I hate cleaning.

The whole process of it.

Having to give up a part of my day to frickin clean.....ugh.

I -DO- LOVE the look of my house & car after I've spent a good portion of my day cleaning.

I feel energized and satisfied afterwards.

My problem = getting to the part where I'm DONE.

I get all mired in details. It's the only time I see anything related to A.D.D. with me. I absolutely cannot keep my focus on one thing when I'm cleaning. I have to bop all over the house cleaning various rooms at once.

It's quite aggravating actually.

Like now.

I am supposed to be folding laundry...cleaning my bathroom (hubby uses/cleans his own bathroom)...straightening my closet...and doing my nails.

But where am I? On the damn computer. Oy vey.

Exciting Friday night, eh?

Yeah...well...I have to be awake at 7am tomorrow for training/orientation at my new job. (Good times.) So there will be no crazyamazingdrunkentimes for me this evening.

Perhaps tomorrow. ::eyebrow wiggle::

Off to clean I go.

Damn I'm a good wife.

Because the husband and I decided to stay home and not go out for dinner & drinks this year for St. Patty's Day, I decided to surprise him with some fresh guacamole, salsa and chips for an appetizer (not Irish, I know...but the guacamole was green and so damn tasty!), a 6 pk of Guinness, a 6pk of Smithwicks, then for dinner we had homemade Shepards Pie, and for dessert we had some Dove "Give in to Mint" ice cream, and Haagen-Dazs 'Baileys Irish Cream' ice cream.

I definitely ate too much. It was so rich and delicious, it was hard to put my fork down! But daaaaaamn I did a good job cooking. =)

Awareness Test

Je déteste attendre.

Yesterday I was at the hospital sitting in the emergency room waiting area (wasn't there for me, was there for someone else) and here are my observations/rants from those wretched hours:

- Picture this...woman in her late 20's, about 60+ lbs overweight, walking from the sign-in desk to her chair across the room where her 4 yr old daughter is sitting (obviously the little one was sick & the reason for being there by the looks of her all crouched over in her seat and palefaced) drops her pen to the floor to where it then slides under the row of chairs. Instead of bending her fat ass over to pick it up herself...tells her sick daughter to get on the floor and "get the pen for mommy". So the little girl hesitantly does what her mother asks and gets on all fours and crawls under the chairs to fetch the pen. Ummmm...

(1) Okay, lardass, why couldn't you just forget about that pen and get another one from the sign-in desk??

(2) The hospital floors are gross, dude. People from all walks of life are scufflin' thru there and you have your sick lil girl on her hands and knees under the chairs. What. The. Fuck.

(3) This is the point where I wanted to smack the lady and pick the lil girl up off the floor and wash her hands off. Had this all not happened so fast, I would've just gone across the room and handed the lady a new pen myself...but there was a part of me afraid to get too close to her that I would've done/said something that would've landed my ass in the pretty police car sitting right out front of the hospital windows.

- I find it very hard to breathe normally when sitting in a waiting room filled with sick people. All of the coughing, hacking, moaning, complaining, itching, etc etc etc....it just makes the room feel so small. It's then that I feel quite claustrophobic. I find myself breathing very small, short breaths...turning away from all the coughing...trying to breathe from behind my hand. I could NEVER work in a hospital or doctor's office. EVER.

- Hospital chairs are the worst. Or maybe just the ones where I was were awful. Hard molded plastic. I ended up sitting in that type of chair for a total of 5 hours. I guess it could've been worse though. I could've been one of the people who was ill or hurt and needed medical attention. ::counting myself as a lucky one::

Teeny Tiny Update.

  • I survived camping at Langerado Music Fest. (3 nights! Woo-hoo! Story & Pics to come later)
  • I saw & heard some amazing bands during the 4 days of Langerado. Such a great experience!
  • I'm currently looking for a new job since I quit my bartending job on Feb 29th. Cross your fingers for me...this girl is BROKE! Oy. Need $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  • My car needs a serious detailing and that's what I'm doing later today if the weather allows. (HINT-HINT to Mother Nature)
  • Fiiiiiinally hooked up the stereo system in our living room yesterday. (Whhhhy did I wait so damn long?! We've been living here almost a YEAR!) Listened to some music that I've been missing so damn much.
  • Realized on my way home from Langerado that there are some serious changes I need to make in my life. There are people I need to spend more time with and some people I'm feeling the need to distance myself from. (more on this later)

This is my gorgeous cat.
Gotta love those green eyes.
Not too sure what happened to her ear.
She was given to me as a birthday gift when she was
almost 6 mths old and her ear was already like that.
(she's about 10 yrs old now)
This awesome lil piece of plastic was found at Urban Outfitters.
I sooooo shoulda bought it.

I love taking pictures of a beautiful sunset.
This is the "Rat Lady".

On this particular day she only had one rat with her.
Sometimes she has upwards of three. Ugh.

Street Painting.

Here are the pictures (finally!!) from the street painting festival I went to a week and a half ago.

Wash your funky butt.

I walked by this guy at the grocery store yesterday who's body odor was so bad I actually felt a little ill after he passed me.

Nice, eh?

"Hi, my name is Bambi (not really) and I'm a 1st time camper."

Yesterday was a pretty cool day. My husband and I went to my dad's house so I could borrow a tent & an air mattress for my Langerado concert/camping adventure coming up this week. My dad showed me how to set-up and break-down the tent (super easy actually!) and gave me some pointers since it'll be my 1st time. (Yep...I've NEVER been camping before.) I'm so excited because I'm going to have the opportunity to see 80 bands play during those 4 days...and yet I'm nervousnervousnervous about sleeping outside...in tent. I'm completely the type of girl who loves a nice comfy bed, use of a hair dryer, cold air conditioning, etc etc. Sooooo this should be interesting to say the least. My friend who is going with me has camped before, so thankfully she will know what to do since I have only a slight clue.

After my dad's house, we headed over to a local Irish restaurant, ate some lamb stew and shepard's pie (TASTY!!!), drank some Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks. While there I ran into a friend of mine who invited us over to a bar down the block to watch the UFC fight. I, being a UFC fan, was all for that! So after dinner we went to watch the fights and whattayaknow I called 4 out of 4 fights that I watched. I didn't watch the very 1st one because I was too busy yappin' it up with my hubby and friends, but then I got really into the next 3 prefights and the main event. DAMN GOOD FIGHTS! I'm kicking myself for not betting some cashola on the fights. I woulda done quite well. Ah well.

Sooooo now I'm getting ready to clean out my car to get it all ready for Langerado. Then I have to go to the store, buy a cooler, lantern, flashlight, batteries, sunscreen, food/drinks, etc etc etc etc etc........This concert is gonna empty my wallet, but whatever....it's gonna be sooooo fun and such an amazing experience (just have all the previous Langerado's been).

Thennnn I have to clean my house. Oy vey. Our bedroom is being taken over by my clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry. It's just ridiculous actually. Every year I go thru my belongings and give stuff away that I no longer wear/use to my friends and sisters. But it just seems that I can never quite get organized to the point where it stays that way. I just have too much stuff.

Okay. I need to get a move on. The morning is almost over and I want to be done with everything by 5pm. Time to go make some espresso and start my day!

Redneck Mansion...and then some.

(Edit: [11/22/08] I'm finding it interesting that somehow the pics from this Redneck post have ended up in some sort of spam email goin around. Just sayin'....)

Please God, let me win the lottery so I can quit my job.

Here's the deal. I'm a bartender at a restaurant that is run by a completely whacked out family. There's the mother and father. They're in their 60's I'm guessing. They aren't too bad. The father likes me a lot. The mother doesn't seem to like me quite as much as she used to. They aren't there very often. The mother is there in the afternoons and the father drops by every so often. Then there's the kids. The one son is in his early 30's. (let's call him #1) He's the cool one of the family. I get along with him really good. Then there's the middle "child" (and I say CHILD because he effin acts like one all the damn time). He's 29. (let's call him #2) Then there's the daughter who I think is 27. (let's call her #3)

Okay. So. #1 & #2 are managers at the restaurant. #1 is the only one who seems to give a shit about anything that goes on there. #2 is a complete dickwad who is lazy and doesn't want to move from his chosen spot of the evening to get whatever it is that I need from the liquor room (which he has a key to and I do not). #3 likes to PRETEND she has a clue as to what running a restaurant is all about and likes to do all kinds of shit to piss off #1.

(are you following me here???)

#2 is the complete douchebag that I want to punch in the face whenever I see him. He seriously makes me want to go postal on him. Let's take last night as a perfect example.

The restaurant was PACKED. We had a cabaret/rat-pack like show going on. To give you an idea of how busy it was...on a normal Thursday night I would probably ring about $500 in sales maximum. Last night I rang $1,724. Yeah. It was slightly busy. (AND we had the inside bar open as well and 5 servers on the floor) Sooooo, it the middle of the chaos, I ask #2 to please combine two customer checks for me so that the gentleman could pay his tab and his friend's tab together with his credit card. #2 stands there, lifts his chin, turns his face away from me, and says "I'm not working tonight."

Okay. Then why the fuck are you in the restaurant? Why are you standing there staring at me all night watching my every fucking move and trying to catch me stealing whatever it is that you think I'm going to steal??? Don't you have something better to do?!?! I mean....SHIT...the other manager (who I haven't talked about yet) is behind the bar with me helping me bartend because I seriously felt like I was drowning back there by myself with the bar being 3-4 people deep. I guess I could have asked him to combine the checks, but he was BUSY WORKING. #2 is standing there doing NOTHING. Typical.

So anyways. That is what I deal with all the time. If I need something from #2 he NEVER gets it for me. If I'm running out of $1 bills and need him to break some of my bigger bills so I can give my customers change, he will NEVER get it for me.

I just don't get it. It's is the most aggravating thing EVER.

Now, the other manager who was behind the bar with me helping me out, is AWESOME. If I need something, he gets it. If I'm swamped behind the bar, he jumps back there and helps out. If I have an overload of glassware that I'm not able to wash because I'm too busy serving drinks, he gets back there and washes glasses. This is the same with #1. He's always there ready to help out. #2 & #3 are assholes who won't lift a finger if their lives depended on it.

So about #3. She is on this lil power trip lately and seems to like to get under my skin with her bullshit ways. When the time comes that I quit that place, it'll definitely be because of her and #2.

OH! And you should see how the family fights! Holy crap! #1 and #2 get into these screaming matches. Kicking each other's cars. One night a couple weeks ago, #2 was spitting over & over again all over #1's car window as #1 was trying to drive away to avoid more of a fight.

Spitting on his window.

He's 29 fucking years old.

::shaking head::

WHO DOES THAT!?!?!?!?!

#2 needs some serious psychological help. And it wouldn't hurt if #3 had a handful of sessions too.

WOW. So yeah. That's my work. I made absolutely fantastic money last night. But when I look at it as a whole and weigh it all out...is almost having a nervous breakdown because there is so much wrong with that place that it makes it difficult to work, worth $480 in tips???

UPDATE: I quit my job on 02.29.08 (the same night that I wrote this blog entry)...I had enough of the crap and I walked out. =)

Sometimes taking a nap equals a tasty dinner.

I still have this wretched cough from when I was sick TWO WEEKS ago. Ugh. I am barely able to get a good night's rest because I'm coughing all through the night. It's so effin aggravating. So because of that lovely coughing I was extremely tired yesterday afternoon and decided to take a nap at about 4pm. I had told my husband that I would make this Caribbean spicy sausage and chicken with coconut rice dish that he loves...but I completely overslept. Sooooo to make it up to him I ordered some sushi & Thai food. YUMMY!!!

We ate:

- Thai Spring Roll
- Seaweed Salad
- Sake Special Roll (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallion, cucumber, inside out with cream cheese, avocado, asparagus, masago, sesame seeds)
- Chicken Pad Thai
- Beef Basil (with mushrooms, onions, carrots, snow peas, scallions, bell pepper, basil)

It was so ridiculously good.
Be jealous.

P.S. I'm well aware that I haven't posted pics from the street painting festival yet. My camera is acting up and the display isn't working. %$#@&*!

Art. Prison.

We went to a street painting festival yesterday. Holy CRAP there were some talented artists there! I'll post the pics that I took a lil bit later on tonight.

I'm a lil ticked off that Prison Break is over for this season. It had only just started January 14th and it already ended last week. Craziness, I tell ya!

Damn writers' strike. ::shaking fist at heavens::

I'm still debating on if I want to add any pics of me on here. I'm thinking that I kinda want to remain a mystery. What do you think I should do?

What I'm craving...

Cadbury Creme Eggs

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Please let me meet this chick someday so I smack her into reality.

It was just another Friday night at work.

There were about 429785649516 moments last night at work that I felt just like this picture. I HATE one of my bosses so much that I pretty much want to punch him in the face immediately upon seeing him. Is that bad?
