...there's booze in the blender...and soon it will render...that frozen concoction that helps me hang on...

F.Y.I. I'm going on the boat today. Heh heh heh...

Some of you are still dealing with snow...
and I'll be laying on a boat...
in 80 degree weather...
soaking up the sun...
with a nice cold drink in my right hand...
and my Zune in the left.

=)

Cruel?

Meeeeeee???

Perhaps a little.

BusyBusyBusy

I have about 30 seconds to update.

Easter = lots n lots of delicious food...desserts...cocktails made of pomegranate & pear juices w/champagne...hiding and finding eggs with my little baby brothers.

Shopping = none except for having to buy khaki shorts for work (oh yes...i'm soooo in style in my khakis. heh heh...not.)

This week = training each day for 4 hours...taking tests...trying to soak it all in so that I'm 100% ready for our grand opening this weekend. I think I smell MONEY!!! $$$$$$$$ =)

Music = I think I have downloaded approx. 150+ new songs to my Zune this week. I've been trying to find a new band or two each day that I really like. So far so good. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

Just a thought...or a rant...whatev.

I hate cleaning.

The whole process of it.

Having to give up a part of my day to frickin clean.....ugh.

BUT...

I -DO- LOVE the look of my house & car after I've spent a good portion of my day cleaning.

I feel energized and satisfied afterwards.

My problem = getting to the part where I'm DONE.

I get all mired in details. It's the only time I see anything related to A.D.D. with me. I absolutely cannot keep my focus on one thing when I'm cleaning. I have to bop all over the house cleaning various rooms at once.

It's quite aggravating actually.

Like now.

I am supposed to be folding laundry...cleaning my bathroom (hubby uses/cleans his own bathroom)...straightening my closet...and doing my nails.

But where am I? On the damn computer. Oy vey.

Exciting Friday night, eh?

Yeah...well...I have to be awake at 7am tomorrow for training/orientation at my new job. (Good times.) So there will be no crazyamazingdrunkentimes for me this evening.

Perhaps tomorrow. ::eyebrow wiggle::

Off to clean I go.

What butter and whiskey won't cure, there is no cure for. (Irish Saying)

Damn I'm a good wife.

Because the husband and I decided to stay home and not go out for dinner & drinks this year for St. Patty's Day, I decided to surprise him with some fresh guacamole, salsa and chips for an appetizer (not Irish, I know...but the guacamole was green and so damn tasty!), a 6 pk of Guinness, a 6pk of Smithwicks, then for dinner we had homemade Shepards Pie, and for dessert we had some Dove "Give in to Mint" ice cream, and Haagen-Dazs 'Baileys Irish Cream' ice cream.

I definitely ate too much. It was so rich and delicious, it was hard to put my fork down! But daaaaaamn I did a good job cooking. =)

Awareness Test

Je déteste attendre.

Yesterday I was at the hospital sitting in the emergency room waiting area (wasn't there for me, was there for someone else) and here are my observations/rants from those wretched hours:

- Picture this...woman in her late 20's, about 60+ lbs overweight, walking from the sign-in desk to her chair across the room where her 4 yr old daughter is sitting (obviously the little one was sick & the reason for being there by the looks of her all crouched over in her seat and palefaced) drops her pen to the floor to where it then slides under the row of chairs. Instead of bending her fat ass over to pick it up herself...tells her sick daughter to get on the floor and "get the pen for mommy". So the little girl hesitantly does what her mother asks and gets on all fours and crawls under the chairs to fetch the pen. Ummmm...

(1) Okay, lardass, why couldn't you just forget about that pen and get another one from the sign-in desk??

(2) The hospital floors are gross, dude. People from all walks of life are scufflin' thru there and you have your sick lil girl on her hands and knees under the chairs. What. The. Fuck.

(3) This is the point where I wanted to smack the lady and pick the lil girl up off the floor and wash her hands off. Had this all not happened so fast, I would've just gone across the room and handed the lady a new pen myself...but there was a part of me afraid to get too close to her that I would've done/said something that would've landed my ass in the pretty police car sitting right out front of the hospital windows.

- I find it very hard to breathe normally when sitting in a waiting room filled with sick people. All of the coughing, hacking, moaning, complaining, itching, etc etc etc....it just makes the room feel so small. It's then that I feel quite claustrophobic. I find myself breathing very small, short breaths...turning away from all the coughing...trying to breathe from behind my hand. I could NEVER work in a hospital or doctor's office. EVER.

- Hospital chairs are the worst. Or maybe just the ones where I was were awful. Hard molded plastic. I ended up sitting in that type of chair for a total of 5 hours. I guess it could've been worse though. I could've been one of the people who was ill or hurt and needed medical attention. ::counting myself as a lucky one::

Teeny Tiny Update.

  • I survived camping at Langerado Music Fest. (3 nights! Woo-hoo! Story & Pics to come later)
  • I saw & heard some amazing bands during the 4 days of Langerado. Such a great experience!
  • I'm currently looking for a new job since I quit my bartending job on Feb 29th. Cross your fingers for me...this girl is BROKE! Oy. Need $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  • My car needs a serious detailing and that's what I'm doing later today if the weather allows. (HINT-HINT to Mother Nature)
  • Fiiiiiinally hooked up the stereo system in our living room yesterday. (Whhhhy did I wait so damn long?! We've been living here almost a YEAR!) Listened to some music that I've been missing so damn much.
  • Realized on my way home from Langerado that there are some serious changes I need to make in my life. There are people I need to spend more time with and some people I'm feeling the need to distance myself from. (more on this later)

Randomness.

(click on the picture to view it larger)

This is my gorgeous cat.
Gotta love those green eyes.
Not too sure what happened to her ear.
She was given to me as a birthday gift when she was
almost 6 mths old and her ear was already like that.
(she's about 10 yrs old now)
This awesome lil piece of plastic was found at Urban Outfitters.
I sooooo shoulda bought it.

I love taking pictures of a beautiful sunset.
This is the "Rat Lady".

On this particular day she only had one rat with her.
Sometimes she has upwards of three. Ugh.

Street Painting.

Here are the pictures (finally!!) from the street painting festival I went to a week and a half ago.

Nice, eh?

"Hi, my name is Bambi (not really) and I'm a 1st time camper."

Yesterday was a pretty cool day. My husband and I went to my dad's house so I could borrow a tent & an air mattress for my Langerado concert/camping adventure coming up this week. My dad showed me how to set-up and break-down the tent (super easy actually!) and gave me some pointers since it'll be my 1st time. (Yep...I've NEVER been camping before.) I'm so excited because I'm going to have the opportunity to see 80 bands play during those 4 days...and yet I'm nervousnervousnervous about sleeping outside...in tent. I'm completely the type of girl who loves a nice comfy bed, use of a hair dryer, cold air conditioning, etc etc. Sooooo this should be interesting to say the least. My friend who is going with me has camped before, so thankfully she will know what to do since I have only a slight clue.

After my dad's house, we headed over to a local Irish restaurant, ate some lamb stew and shepard's pie (TASTY!!!), drank some Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks. While there I ran into a friend of mine who invited us over to a bar down the block to watch the UFC fight. I, being a UFC fan, was all for that! So after dinner we went to watch the fights and whattayaknow I called 4 out of 4 fights that I watched. I didn't watch the very 1st one because I was too busy yappin' it up with my hubby and friends, but then I got really into the next 3 prefights and the main event. DAMN GOOD FIGHTS! I'm kicking myself for not betting some cashola on the fights. I woulda done quite well. Ah well.

Sooooo now I'm getting ready to clean out my car to get it all ready for Langerado. Then I have to go to the store, buy a cooler, lantern, flashlight, batteries, sunscreen, food/drinks, etc etc etc etc etc........This concert is gonna empty my wallet, but whatever....it's gonna be sooooo fun and such an amazing experience (just have all the previous Langerado's been).

Thennnn I have to clean my house. Oy vey. Our bedroom is being taken over by my clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry. It's just ridiculous actually. Every year I go thru my belongings and give stuff away that I no longer wear/use to my friends and sisters. But it just seems that I can never quite get organized to the point where it stays that way. I just have too much stuff.

Okay. I need to get a move on. The morning is almost over and I want to be done with everything by 5pm. Time to go make some espresso and start my day!
